Review of: Mercenary Boots

These fit my needs as a starter pair of boots for my Renaissance Faire costume, since I'm not (yet) willing to pay hundreds for leather boots.

PRO
- Look nice
- Comfortable
- Fit well (size Medium. I'm usually a 10.5 or 11) and no issue with calf size (male, muscular/toned but not especially large calves)
- They seem well made (time will tell on durability)
- Good value as an inexpensive starter boot

CON
- Fake poly leather will probably be hot

Review of: Locksley Boots

I bought it for myself but the cut is a bit on the small side, however they turned out to fit my son perfectly, who wears them every chance he gets. I had to replace the lacing after a solid 6 months of almost constant wear which is more than reasonable and I am very happy with how the boots have held up. My only suggestion is to purchase one to two sizes larger than your normal shoe size.

Review of: Swordsman Roll Down Boots

These are versatile. all-purpose boots that fit a variety of costume applications. I originally bought them for a Dread Pirate Roberts costume, but have since found many other uses for them.

Wearing one of these unannounced is the equivalent of Led Zeppelin and a few glasses of wine.  You're welcome.

Review of: High Boots without Fringe

I've had my boots for almost 20 years and I have been amazed at how well they have stood up. While I don't wear them but for Halloween or the odd medieval festival I have logged a lot of miles both on urban and rural terrain and they've never bothered me once. I have had ONE string break but that was after the horse I was on decided to brush by a thicket which snagged a lace. I always have lots of slack to the laces when putting them on or taking them off, tightening them from the bottom laces up so as not to stress the lace or eyelets.  They've been one of the better buys I've made from MR, and one I would happily do again when replacements are required.
