American Frontier

The American Frontier is the Westward expansion of the colonies in the early 17th century. Popular culture and the entertainment industry are focused on the Western US in the second half of the 19th century, post Civil War, a period sometimes called the Old West or the Wild West.  The reality was it wasn't always that wild- farming, mining, railroads, lumber and other industries were growing and were the driving forces of the day.

We see an interesting mix of the Alamo, the Lone Ranger, Gary Cooper, Clint Eastwood, John Wayne, Texas Rangers, Jim Bowie, cattle rustlers, gamblers, gun fighters and outlaws.  The Hatfields and McCoys, Billy the Kidd, Butch Cassidy the James Gang all seem romantic now.  The frontier transformed Americans and inspired our offerings.  We carry tomahawksBowie knivesfrontier décor, powder horns and so much more.  Whether you side with the romance of it all or the wild side often portrayed in books, TV and film, we’ve got something interesting that captures the spirit of the American Frontier.   Made from authentic materials, often replicated from originals of the era, we have brought the frontier back.

Review of: Texas Bowie Knife

It's a very large and excellent sharpened knife. It's very beautiful looking. The sheath is simple and fits well. The engraving is very nice though in an odd position.

Review of: Damascus Cowboy Knife

I was skeptical about this knife when I first saw it online, but I was beyond pleased when I finally ordered and received it.  The Damascus looks even better in person and you can see the steel layers on the spine of the blade.  The bone grips are tightly fitted and comfortable.  The scabbard is of very nice quality for an off the shelf knife.  Good, heavy leather construction and the knife fits securely.  If you're looking for a good western knife, this is the one you've been waiting for.

Review of: High Boots without Fringe

I've had my boots for almost 20 years and I have been amazed at how well they have stood up. While I don't wear them but for Halloween or the odd medieval festival I have logged a lot of miles both on urban and rural terrain and they've never bothered me once. I have had ONE string break but that was after the horse I was on decided to brush by a thicket which snagged a lace. I always have lots of slack to the laces when putting them on or taking them off, tightening them from the bottom laces up so as not to stress the lace or eyelets.  They've been one of the better buys I've made from MR, and one I would happily do again when replacements are required.
