Peloponnesian Dagger

#404463
This dagger is copied from an original that dates from the 9th -7th century BC. The blade is bronze with a full profile tang The original likely had wood scales, we've used bone because we like how the color contrasts with bronze. The slim handle is scalloped to aid grip during a thrust. We designed a sheath with a highly embellished bronze throat and tip and three square medallions. A bronze ring is attached for lashing the sheath to a belt. Made by Windlass Steelcrafts.

I would have written this up for my monthly knife column in a firearm magazine but the availability seems to be hit or miss

Review of: Peloponnesian Dagger

I honestly don’t know what people are complaining about… If you’ve ever handled a dagger from this period, this is exactly in line with the dimensions of those blades. Even handling a dagger from Luristan and other ancient civilizations, the handles are just as small. This is a phenomenal replica, exactly what one would expect from an authentic piece dating back to this time. Highly recommend this piece and as always, the quality by Windlass is phenomenal.

Review of: Voyager Scramasax

This is a great little knife. Super stabby/acute point.. Tight fit on all the parts. Though there is no guard the cross hatching on the bone handle provides a excellent no-slip grip. The antique finish is great. Since it is a friction fit sheath the lanyard ring really helps because only about about 1-1/2" of the handle sticks out of the sheath. My only problem with this knife is we are so used to the blade edge going to the rounded side of the sheath occasionally I try to put it in upside down or is it down side up. Ha ha!
