Pole Arms, Spearheads & Butt Caps

Pole Arms and Spears were very versatile weapons. Used in siege warfare, they were comprised of a shaft with a blade or pointed tip. They were used to strike, swing, poke and thrust. Inexpensive to make, they required little training or skill to be used effectively.

Review of: Viking Spear

Finely forged spear head, extremely easy to attach to a shaft using the drilled holes in the socket. Loved it so much I bought another two afterwards!

Review of: Butt Cap for Greek Spear

This cap is very well made. It should balance out the greek spearhead nicely when I get them mounted on the shaft. Thanks for a solid product.

This spearhead should be able to see some serious action. It's a beast! Can't wait to put an edge on it.

Review of: Bec de Corbin

Great piece for any Medieval Weapons collection (whilst it is fully functional and battle ready.) I'm impressed with the overall look and quality of the workmanship that was put into it. Lightning fast shipping was my experience, and packaged, very well, and coated with oil to protect the metal parts. It's a bit shorter than what they would have used during the period, but it's a wall hanger for me, so it's not an issue. Again, I'm impressed with this piece, MRL, does not disappoint. Until you have a Bec de Corbin in your collection, you're missing out. I just can't help to think how much awe and terror these inflicted on the battlefield, especially with a large group of Pikemen. Thank you MRL, you have delivered, as always.

Review of: Butt Cap for Greek Spear

I ordered this with the Greek Spear Head, which is on back order. I don't know if they will fit on the same pole. I assume they will. It seems very sturdy. It's sort of useless to me without the Spear Head that it's supposed to counter balance, though.

Review of: Long Bladed Hewing Spearhead

Nice heavy spear.   Broader, longer, blade than average.  Still a bit awkward for "hewing" on a full length shaft, but I see where the thinking was going with it.  I would maybe try it on a shorter shaft if I really wanted to slash with it, although a naginata, glaive, or other polearm would do that job much better.  I'll keep it as a heavy spear, it's very good in that role!

Review of: Bec de Corbin

I've been waiting for this to come back for several years.  A beautiful and deadly addition to my polearm family!  Everything you need to beat down and punch through armor.  As always, historically accurate, French based weapon.

Review of: Man-at-Arms Sergeant's Halberd

THE classic middle to late medieval polearm and beyond.  This version is practical, durable, no nonsense, and perfect for the job.  Exactly what comes to mind when you think of the word Halberd.  The included shaft is much appreciated, although will need some trimming for a more secure fit if you want to use it for more than just display.

Review of: Butt Cap for Greek Spear

Nice, heavy  buttcap.  Could be used as a secondary spear itself in a pinch.  Great for balancing out the Greek Spearhead.

Review of: Flat Ended Butt Cap

Functions perfectly as a counterbalance to any spearhead.  Makes wielding a spear much easier and more effective.  Also helpful in grounding the spear, or as a non lethal striking surface
