OVERVIEW

This authentic, hand made replica is hand forged and fully tempered of 1095 high carbon steel. Coupled with original handle and sheath materials to ensure it performs exactly as the originals did. Flexible, ornate blade and leather grip wrapped with brass wire. This faithful reproduction of the Boyle, Gamble and McFee sword is a beauty! The blade etching is even more detailed than on the old ones, with the heroic "C.S.A.", cannon and battle flag all well done. The brass fittings are beautifully hand finished with precise detail. Note the five pointed star and "CS" on the knuckle bow. Top grain leather scabbard. See Albaugh's "Confederate Edged Weapons", pg. 9. Can be sharpened for an additional fee.  Made by Windlass Steelcrafts®.

Beautiful sword! The leather grip feels nice when handled. The sword is balanced and is not too heavy. Easy to control using one hand. Very ornate with confederate symbols displayed down the blade. A masterfully crafted homage to southern heritage. Thank you for this amazing addition to my collection. High quality confederate pieces are becoming hard to find. I highly recommend this work of art.

A Proud Battle Ready Reproduction
This sword has all amazing features. The only part that looks like it was made more cheaply is the sheath. The sword is solid construction, Welded full tang with a leather and gold wire wrapped grip. I got it sharpened, and the tip is sharp enough to easily break skin, but the edge could use some TLC. If you pay for sharpening, you are paying for an edge to be put on the blade, not for a sharp blade. The construction is great and the price is even greater. The only shortfalls are the sheath and the edge. Everything else is perfect. I give it 5 stars because this sword is worth the cost without the sheath and without the edge put on it. So for the price its a win-win, I just know that MRL has some amazing quality sheaths, but you pay for it. Also on their mastercraft swords, it seems that they put more time into the edge. Check out their mastercraft swords if you are a sword lover, you will not be dissapointed.

Nice Reproduction
I have an original from my Great Grandfathers service with the 44th Tenn. Shows it's age and intend to purchase this reproduction and add it to the display.
