Overview

Worn under a helmet and/or a mail coif, the arming cap offered extra cushioning for the head. Although the original cloth caps were widely stuffed with rags and straw, our cotton cap is thickly lined with fiber fill. Machine washable. Quilted construction with a tie cord. S (for 21" head circumference), M (22"), L (23") and XL (24").

Reviews

If you have or are thinking of getting a chain mail coif, then you should consider getting an arming cap to go with it. I am quite satisfied with this one.

Mail Gauntlets

To protect the back of the hand, we have added mail on our black leather gauntlets and also placed slightly cupped steel lames all around the cuff. These gauntlets offer good protection to the hand, wrist and lower arm from a sword slash or draw cut. There's a pair much like these at the Art Institute of Chicago that are highly decorative, however we have left ours plain to keep the price down and to allow them to be historically correct from the Early Middle Ages well into the Renaissance. These mail gauntlets are a must for any enthusiast.
