Daggers

After the club, daggers are man's oldest tool and weapon.  Historically they were usually double edged and used to deliver quick, lethal strokes. Their small size made it perfect for those more nefarious types. They were also used in the "two handed" fighting style popularized by the French during the Renaissance.

Review of: The Raven Rondel Dagger

Heavy, meaty, ready for battle. Something that is worthy of a knight. This is a thing of beauty. The pictures don't do it justice. The bluing really sets the look of the contrasting bright corners of the blade. The dark brown handle does the same for the brass studs.

This was the first Cold Steel product that I have purchased and I was impressed. The factory packaging was great and offered excellent protection. The fit and finish is very good.

Review of: Venetian Stiletto

This is my favorite dagger in my collection. I just love the look of it.

It was not boxed very well. The factory packaging could have been much better. The tip came slightly bent, but about a minute with a sharpening stone took care of it. Yes, I could have just sent it back, but I do a lot of knife sharpening.

A superb blade, I ordered it with an engraving and sharpening service and it was perfect. No defects in the blade or scabbard. A great purchase for anyone who is interested in the Romans or just needs a small blade.

Review of: Musketeer Main Gauche

This is a truly phenomenal main gauche. Sturdily constructed, it serves as the ultimate off-hand parrying, trapping, binding and smacking weapon. Everything about this main gauche, form the thick ricasso to the excellently tempered diamond cross section blade, to the extra large quillons, to the ridged patterns for trapping blades and especially the phenomenal knuckle guard with it's fantastic detailing is just a cut above what one would expect for such a low price. A must-have in any collection and a trusty sidearm that will quickly become a practicing swordsman's favorite.

Review of: Early Scottish Dirk

I received this as a gift and covered the scabbard's black leather with white hair-on calfskin to match a dress sporran.  There are many styles of dirk.  This style is based upon those which were made from the broken tips of swords: a basket-hilt claymore in this case (in our minds), the ID made obvious by the pattern of almost fullers on the blade.  This is a mini short sword... particularly heavy, and with none of the stiletto-like delicacy of a typical ballock knife.  You'd feel confident going up against an angry pit bull with this--- not so a ballock knife.

A very beautiful stiletto! Flawless execution on this one. It even stays in the sheath without slipping out. If you like this style get it!
