Viking Swords

Viking swords were expensive to make. They were typically double edged, but single-edged swords were also used. The blades were pattern-welded, a method of sword making where iron and steel were forge-welded together. Together with weapons such as the battle-axe and the spear, the sword was one of the most useful offensive tools for a Viking warrior. Viking swords were typically meant for single-handed use, with the other hand holding a shield. They were more than mere weapons of combat; a sword often indicated wealth and status. Also, these blades were heirlooms and given names and survived generations.

Museum Replicas is proud of the variety of swords it offers. We carry a stunning range of Viking swords that would suit both the standard warrior and Viking royalty. We also understand that no Viking sword collection is complete without the Ulfberht, a weapon so ahead of its time it was considered mystical in some quarters. Our amazing replica does this sword justice. Also, check out the Tinker Viking sword design inspired by historical examples from the early 9th Century and Eric the Red Sword that is inspired by the legendary Norwegian Viking. Of course, we have much more in this collection – blades forged with expert hands and with detail exquisite enough to turn the head of even the most battle-hardened Norse warrior. Although an authentic Viking sword is hard to come by, we will give you a premium-quality weapon replica derived from those wielded by the most terrifying seafarers in history.

Review of: The Viking Explorer Box

I got this kit as a gift and everything had great quality. I had some concerns about the sword due to a YouTube video I watched, but the sword was the diamond of the kit

Review of: Cawood Viking Sword by Paul Chen / Hanwei

This is an amazing replica! The sword is an absolute joy to look at, swing, cut and just plain enjoy. It came with a good edge right out of the box, but a few minutes with a whetstone put a great edge on it.
As soon as I picked the sword up, I knew that I was holding a fine sword. I could imagine what a 13th Century warrior felt as he (or she... Shield Maidens are historic fact) drew this weapon before battle. A certainty that THIS sword will serve well in the coming battle!
The balance is superb. Enough blade presence to let you make dynamic cuts yet feels light in hand and very responsive. The sword seems to almost lead you into the strike and follows every intention. The down-turned quillions give a distinct feel of defensive ability and the acute point makes this sword very capable of both cutting and thrusting making it a superb weapon in the melee. Easily one of the best swords available at any price!

Review of: The Viking Explorer Box

First off i will state that for one a few dollars more than the sword you get everything else!  The horn is excellent, with nice and crisp carvings. The coins have some heft to them but don't seem to hold their coloring very well. The purse is very well constructed. And not to leave out the Ashdown, A wonderful sword to be added to any collection.

Review of: Ashdown Viking Sword

The sword is beautiful I can find no flaws whatsoever, straight and true. I wanted a real, true to period practical fighting sword that looks and feels like it could be swung in a hard fought protracted battle. This is it. The grip is big and comfortable, the sword seems well balanced and truly formidable. The scabboard is solid, well appointed and adds to the overall appeal of the sword. My only complaint is that I paid to have it engraved with my initials and it didn’t get done.

I just got this sword and I have to say, I was really surprised how great this sword felt in my hand. The grip was big enough for even my "ham hock" size hand! LOL i ordered it sharpened and I think I can shave with this thing, too. Great quality and awesome piece for the price! Thanks!

Review of: Battlecry Maldon Viking Sword

The Maldon Viking Sword I received matched the specs given. Designs accurate. Finish adds a nice aged look. Built strong. Balanced great for cutting. The grip fits great in the hand. Sheath and frog work well. The edge is suffice, I prefer sharper but it does cut well. Great for the price.

Review of: Battlecry Maldon Viking Sword

Very pleased with this sword.  Many time have been disapointed by windlass... with defective sword.  With them you get a hit or a miss.  I got a hit with the Maldon sword.   Very well made and the blade patina is incredible.   Very attractive
