Review of: Leather Jerkin

I am 5'10" and 155 lbs. I have a slim build and the Size M fits great over my other padded shirt. It feels heavy and well made. I wear it for my Viking costume for DragonCon and other cons.

Review of: Viking Tunic - Woolen

I gave this tunic 5 stars only because I could not make the review accept 4 and was reluctant to give 3.  MRL need to fix the glitch.
The construction seems to be good.  I am 5’9” weigh 160 lb. with a 38” chest and the S/M is generous on me.  This is my first tunic and I like it finding it warm and slips on surprisingly easy, not to mention it’s comfortable allowing me to move freely.  I think it’s only a matter of time before I get another.  The two complaints that I have are; It is not colour fast, but I knew this before ordering so I question that I should list this.  I am not concerned about cleaning as much as getting caught in the rain.  The other is the trim.  It is nicely done but is a 1½” strip with a printed design.  I feel this cheapens the tunic.  It would be more authentic and eye pleasing if embroidered.  This is not noticeable past a few feet.  This is the reason for 4 stars.

Review of: Viking Tunic - Noble's Cotton

I purchased the blue one a couple weeks ago. It looks great in the picture and looked even better when it arrived at my house. I was impressed with the detail and quality. I wore it to Scarborough Faire this past weekend.  It was very comfortable and I got a ton of compliments plus inquiries on where I got it. I am very satisfied with this purchase.  Note: dry clean only if that concerns you

Review of: Viking Tunic - Noble's Cotton

My husband has been saying, "Don't buy me a new shirt.  I can wear the one I have."  But when the Viking Tunic arrived ... he loved it!  He will be wearing it to Norwegian FishClub Odin on March 11th and take it on our trip to Norway in July.  We are going on the Hurtigruten Voyage and plan to meet the Vikings!

Review of: Leather Jerkin

Excellent craftsmanship; the leatherwork details are very well done. No unnecessary ornamentation (fitting with the target period).

As others noted, as there is currently no L size available, I ordered an XL.  The XL was quite large, and I didn't want to hire a leather worker to resize it, so I returned it and exchanged the XL for a M hoping it too would run a little large. The exchange was easy and I was sent the new M jerkin within two-weeks.

The M fits me fairly well; slightly tight in the chest, and I will need to lose 10lbs before the next event. The straps are adjustable only to about an inch, though there is room to pierce an extra hole with an awl.

I plan to wear this item with the padded shirt also sold by MRL.

Review of: Leather Jerkin

I bought this as a "Deal of the Day" and it was a really great deal. It would certainly be worth the regular price as well, but getting it for so much less made it even better!
This is a really great product. The leather is supple and beautifully tanned and it is cut well for a really nice fit. I have yet to wear it without receiving compliments on the quality and authenticity. Excellent piece.

Purchased the blue one last year and was very pleased with it, so I bought the orange one this year when it was on sale.
