Tyr & the Binding of Ferir Statue

Another of All-Father Odin’s rambunctious boys, Tyr is the invincible warrior of the Nordic pantheon. Tyr is the god of single combat, victory, and heroic glory in Norse mythology. He is said to have sacrificed his right hand to help bind Fenrir, the wolf who, when set free, is destined to devour the Sun.

This statue of Tyr with his hand in Fenrir's mouth (pre-sacrifice, thankfully) is made of cold cast resin and has a beautiful metallic bronze finish that gives it the look of metal. Tyr not only gave his hand, he also gave us “Tuesday” ( “Tyr’s day”). This expertly sculpted statue has hand-painted accents that help reveal the wonderful detail.
