OVERVIEW

During the so-called Dark Ages, there were many advances in metallurgy, and better swords were being produced. This slashing type of sword was among the favorites of the Vikings. Made by the smiths of Windlass Steelcrafts, the blade is high carbon and features an extra-wide fuller running the entire length. The rugged wooded handle is large enough for even the biggest warrior hand, while the pommel and guard have been finished in an antique copper. No detail has been overlooked down to the peened tang and matching leather scabbard and shoulder baldric.

Can be sharpened for an additional fee. Can be personalized with 3 initials.

Cumbersome a bit but worth it
A bit heavy and the end of handle can be uncomfortable from irritating the skin......the blade was impressive to the point it was useful for doing trail maintenance. I would suggest as a display piece or a trail tool/self defense from beasts.

The Gotland sword
I ordered my on the 15 and got it on the 20th.,it is my favorte viking sword. The scabbard holds the sword in it when upsidedown. The blade is sharp, although havent cut anything yet due it is a christmas present.Have three other windless viking swords, plus lot of others like the faithkeeper sword of the knights templar.I ordered the Gotland viking sword because of it's overall looks.don;t mind the extra length on grip.mine  is 2.5&1/2 pounds, also the peened on mine is nicely done.Greate looking sword, great customer service.Ray Blundell

A bit long...
I have but one issue with this sword, and that is the length of the handle. other than that it feels great in the hand doesn't roll. Pretty decent edge was put on it though the sharping service.
