The charge of the 12th-century Spanish knights, The Order of St. James of the Sword, vowed to protect pilgrims and extirpate infidels. The Cross of St. James has fleurs-de-lis arms, is topped with a Compostela shell, and the shape of the cross is the blade of a sword. This pewter pendant is in the shape of the Cross of St. James, also known as the Santiago Cross.
The antiqued pewter cross pendant is a raised relief with fleurs-de-lis arms and a sword-pointed shaft, with a dark, round hematite cabochon at its center. It hangs from a nickel-free 21" black trace chain with clasp fastener. Hand made in England in fine English pewter.
