Samurai & Asian Swords

You cannot talk about Japanese history without mentioning the elite Samurai Warrior. Experts at fighting both on horseback and the ground, the Samurai lived by a strict code of ethics. Instilled with "freedom from fear", they trained rigidly and were considered an aristocratic warrior class.

Top Customer Reviews

Review of: Raptor Katana Moroha Zukuri

This is my second Hanwei sword and it is of quite high quality.

The good
-Extremely well balanced and light.
-Feels great in the hand.
-Tight ito and samegawa panels.
-Fits extremely well in the saya and does not rattle.
-All fittings are tight and do not rattle

The bad
-The tsuba on this sword has a spot where the blackened steel flaked off. I'm sure this is a casting flaw and probably does not represent every sword.

I have not cut with this blade as I currently do not have access to an appropriate amount of space to do so. Please bear that in mind.

If you need a more thorough review including cutting, look up Matthew Jensen on YouTube.

Museum Replicas shipping was fast and a pleasure to do business with.

Review of: Practical Plus XL Light Katana

I have collected a lotta swords (and stuff). but I did NOT have a real katana. For a collector, that's like collecting guns and not having an M1911 - it's almost morally wrong. So, when I happened to come into some extra cash AND MR offered their awesome Black Friday deal, I decided it was time! I wanted one I KNEW was meant to use, so I went for the "practical" line. There were four, and after comparing I went for the most expensive one... I wanted it to LOOK good too, and I also wanted the longer type with a typical handle length. I am sure fully pleased!! Just even looking at it, it was plain this was no-foolin' good steel, not some chromed crap...., and a big hunka hunka steel it is. Thick, hefty and sharp (in case you were wondering, as I was), but not out of balance. No loose fittings anywhere. Simple, but beautiful to the eye. It is exactly what I was looking for!
