Like other reviews state youll need to fasten them yourself. You can use regular twine if youre in that much of a hurry like i was to put them on for the first time. The steel is very sturdy and i am looking into some ways to paint the steel to really make it my own. Going to be a great addition to my halloween and renaissance faire pieces.

Your shins are safe
These things are solid! Wore them with my Roman armor as well as some Medieval outfits and they look great. Easy to rig up with some leather straps or belts to secure them.

As Michael has noted, the brass rings on these greaves are the weak point in this design. At 8 3/4" wide they are a wide fit. All armour was worn with some sort of padding underneath to help absorb the shock of blows. These greaves do not include padding. Adding padding will improve fit and comfort.
