Shaft steel is not hardened
I bought this when I bought my first Battlecry Series Acre Sword.  I eventually built a  Pell to practice on and hit the shaft where it meets the mace head on the corner of the 4x4.  It bent about 10-15 degrees with one not even full force it (I mean I wasn't trying to destroy my new Pell i made).  I'm glad I wasnt depending life on it.  Against an unarmored intruder, no problem, unless i miss and hit something hard.  But I gave it 2 stars because this was a repro to be used against armored foe and it failed a stout piece of treated pine.

16C Italian Mace
Wow! Great mace. Excellently made, finished, and balanced. I don't intend to bash anything with it - I'm sure it would do the job quite well, but it looks mighty fine on my wall. Thanks MR for another fine product.

Excellent
I'm very happy with this mace. Fit and finish are good, and the flanges are all nice and clean. There are a couple of very minor imperfections which are not an issue to me, especially for the price. I can't comment on the durability.

I like the long grip section which allows either a one or two-handed grip. There is a hole at the bottom as well for adding a loop of cord or leather.

I've wanted one of MR's maces for a very long time, so it feels great to finally have this one.

Classic mace!
Great reproduction of a classic mace! As deadly as the original.

Well made and heavy!
I have had this mace for years. Travelled the world with me and no rust, no oxidation, etc. Heavy to use but what a home-defense weapon!
