I had a had time removing the sword from the sheath. The metal part of the sheath, at the top, came off. I have since files the head of the sheath and epoxied the leather of the sheath to the wooden interior of the sheath. Then I epoxied the metal head of the sheath back onto the sheath itself and have been inserting and removing the sword from the sheath. It is now holding. I believe that once I have finished sharpening the sword it will slide in and out as it should have upon arrival. Then the pommal of the darn sword came off. I epoxied it back on and now it is holding as it should have been upon arrival. I don't mind working on my collection but when I pay for a product it should at least hold together, don't you think?
