Great blade; short handle
Very unusual design.  The blade came screamingly sharp (I had mine factory-edged).  It's also an unusually long blade, with a very wide profile, and made short work of pool noodles and cardboard boxes.  The handle, though, is unusually short and a little awkward for a blade of this design.  I'm not sure if it's historic or not, but if so then I don't know quite how to hold it comfortably with two hands - I can just manage to grip the bottom of the pommel, which doesn't seem like the way you'd want to build a handle, but it works.  Good value.

Made for battle, beautiful on your wall!
I ordered this sword several years ago and am finally sitting down to review!

It is the premier longsword in its price range,  and probably above. The nature of the thick ricasso means this blade isn't whippy in the thrust.

Looks wise,  it is a mash-up of Braveheart and Anduril, a lovely,  huge blade.

I ordered sharpening and it's a tough sturdy razor. It holds up to pell work (basically hitting a wooden pole),  bottle cutting,  tatami etc.

Remember,  historical swords needed to survive blade to blade,  blade to shield,  blade to armor combat. Repairs were often done after battles,  but they had to hold up for hours days or weeks of rough use.

This sword is made for battle,  but will look glorious on your wall!

Fantastic sword
Really a damn good sword for the price, a fun and decent beater and not too heavy, feels great in the hand

The sword is outstanding for the price. Well crafted and tight. Two very minor details which are hardly issues at all. First, the grip threading is slightly bunched near the pommel and the long center fuller looks like it drifts to one side in the last inch near the blade tip. However, I enjoy this sword so much that writing anything negative seems absurd. Mine was ordered sharp and it is very sharp. Beautiful balance and clean cuts a watermelon nicely. Only the nit-picky observer will see issues with this blade. In short I will buy from Museum Replicas again and again. I appreciate the descriptions of the swords and their craftsmen, nothing hidden here.

Just got it today, it is one huge awesome beast and very good looking. As others have posted the center of balance is way to far forward and the pommel is much too small/light to properly balance it. The sharpening is on the correct angles and is sharp but also very ruff. Also has way more whip than expected, holding it in one hand and tap on the pommel, the tip will quiver like a dog pooping a pinecone! Will make a fine wall hanger and I will buy from Museum Replicas again!

Pommel is smaller then pic suggests, too small and the blade has too much of the weight, 7.25" center of balance from the guard. The steel sharpened slowly so it seems heat treated well. Feels more like a club then a sword.

Picked up my sword the other day while I was in Conyers.  Love the sword.  Had it sharpened and they did a great job.  Great sword.  No issues with it at all.  John was a great help.  Everyone should go by if your near Atlanta.

For reference I am rating this sword at the purchase price of $140. This has to be my favorite sword that I own, albeit in my limited collection experience. The scabbard leaves a bit to be desired as well as some residue on the blade but it serves its purpose enough as I usually do not walk around with swords on my waistline :). There are a couple imperfections such as the gap between the cross guard and blade and would be nice to see it tightened up but in absolutely no way does it affect the solid construction. A couple alignments are off but at this point I'm nitpicking so as to give people who hold serious weight to these things some substance. The grip is also a little uncomfortable but I do plan on fixing that. The sharpening job on the sword seemed appropriately done and the three well-defined fullers offers a very elegant profile. I have yet to do any cutting with it but I have no doubt it would stand up to the test. I couldn't be any happier with this sword and plan on having it a long time. Now just to name it...

Just received mine today. Well balanced, well sharpened (ordered sharpened), not too whippy, etc, just like all the other reviewers say. This really is a great sword and is worth every penny!

Super sword, beautifully sharpened, very good balance and blade rigidity.  Overall could not be more pleased.

Extremely please. After cleaning off the packing grease and waxing the leather parts because packing grease a healthy piece of leather does not make, the sword really just appeared as a true thing of elegance and beauty to me. It has excellent point control, isn't too whippy, seems to have the proper point of percussion although I have not really tested this yet, and is masterfully hand forged. It is also peened very cleanly. Windlass has also improved their scabbards. They no longer slide off.

Museum's customer service is great and their sharpening service is also good but a bit spotty on their angles, although it can very easily be corrected. They certainly do sharpen it in any case. Data point of one; I made a small slice on my finger while cleaning it because I am an idiot. Let it be a reminder to be careful handling these things.

Overall pretty nice, the handle needs to be redone however. The handling and overall characteristics are nice. Definitely recommended.

I picked this up on a deal of the day and it was a "steel!" The pommel has a clean peen, the blade a fine distal taper. My favorite features are the ricasso and fullers. It is simplistic yet elegant. The heat treatment seems well done. The blade has great flexibility without being "whippy." This is one of my favorite swords in my collection and rivals many of my much pricier custom swords. Well done all around.
