Nice blade.
This sword seems very well made. Nice weight, nice balance. Blade was already sharp, but running a fine stone over the edge has made this a large razor blade. Very satisfied with my purchase.

Bastard Word
Nice heft to the blade, handle is firmly secured, sheath is fantastic. Only complaint I could have is the edge of the blade has a small amount of inconsitency from sharpening but it takes a master to get it perfect. Very happy with the sword and quality.

A Classic!
What a wonderful sword! Heavy but well-balanced with a good grip and easy to go through offensive and defensive moves and positions. Looks great on the wall with my other swords. Highly recommended.

Classic Bastard Sword
This is the perfect knight's sword. Pure hand a half sized. Heavy but, excellent quality and handles like a dream.
Had the unsharpened model first, but got this one factory sharpened. A definite improvement.

Nice 15th-16th century warsword
Decent later period warsword. Typology wise it fits well as a later period Oakeshott Type XIII Bastard sword of the 15th-16th centuries. This was a unique time when the earlier Crusader Warsword types like the XIII/XIIIa and XIIa were rehilted and used in battles especially in Italy.  The sword itself is well made but had some issues I noticed after unboxing. First was the pommel was loose due to it not being fully peened properly and secondly the grip was roughly finished around the grip ring. Nothing I couldn't remedy myself and more than likely just random quality control errors in production. Though worth mentioning.  A definite buy if your looking for a simple but functional later period warsword.

Pretty decent
This is my first battle ready sword that I purchased from swords and more in Europe.

I love the looks of it, but it doesn't look exactly like in the pictures or how some comments describe it - mine came with black leather grip, scabbard and glossy steel pommel and guard. The pictures don't do it justice. It feels great in 2 hands and it's well fitted. My scabbard came with a bit of a bump at then end, but it's functionally ok and could be from the transport. Am having some issues maneuvering it in a single hand, but it might be because I'm a beginner with European style swords.

My biggest issue with it is that it's a bit too "wobbly" - too elastic, but I haven't done cutting tests so far too see if it's a real issue (will come back once I did).

All in all it's a great first purchase. Looking forward to putting it to test.

The Big Bastard.
This thing is truly huge. It is bigger and heavier than some of the two handed swords. The grip is larger in diameter and staged giving a firmer,  truer grip. As opposed to the usual black and silver color scheme this has brown leather grip, brown scabbard and bronze/copper guard. The fig shaped tapered pommel adds to a two hand purchase. Of the 5 hand and a half and two hand swords I own this is the biggest, heaviest, and most visually impressive to wield. This will make an opponent think twice. Also the ricasso and twin fullers are unique. Overall magnificent.

Dream Come True
I had wanted this sword for over 20 years, and after many times being unable to buy it (for one reason or another), the stars aligned and I was able to buy it.  Everything I wanted it to be and more, and a great addition to any collection.

Balance point is perfect, right behind the guard, so one-handed use is a cinch (for someone my size [6'5" 250lbs]).  Feels quick, sturdy, and durable.

A
I had bought this sword as a 50th birthday gift for a friend and this was the first time I opted for further customization. It was ordered with both sharpening and initials which were both available. The edge was razor sharp and the engraved initials were perfectly done. The sword and scabbard were finely crafted and I was envious of this very well received birthday gift, my friend loved it! Some day in the not too distant future I sorely wish for one of my own...

EXCELLENT BASTARD SWORD, SIMPLE AND POWERFUL
Windlass hits another home run!! Now, from what I understand, this Sword is a "Re-Run" of a Sword they had produced at some point in the past and brought back into production for some time. So I thought to myself is this going to be a sword that has sat in a warehouse for 10 years?.....mmm.... Well if they have they stored them perfectly👍.  However, as good a quality as these are I seriously doubt that they have 🗡🗡👍.  Absolutely love this Sword! The grip is excellent. Excellent quality rich, black leather. Oval shaped and tapered slightly to the middle spacer, then slightly more tapered to the pommel, a (scent-stopper) style I beleive, makes for an EXCELLENT GRIP SINGLE OR TWO HANDED! On top of the pommel you can see where the thick tang of the blade has been HAMMER PEENED INTO PLACE. The crossguard is solid. Period correct. A little plain, but hey, leaves a customization option. I didn't think I would like the ricasso, I usually don't, but a little thought and you realize that it is EXCELLENT FOR HALFSWORDING (Holding the Sword like a Spear) 👍👍. Now PERSONALLY I have covered the Ricasso with thick, black leather. (Think the Braveheart Sword). But I'm a semi-pro sword customizer, with access to every material one would need, so customize at your own risk! THE BLADE ALSO IS JUST AWESOME! It is Broad and Straight, being surprisingly light. Now typically a Bastard Sword blade would be a touch longer, but this LENGTH IS JUST RIGHT!! The handling of this sword is just a touch blade heavy, but a REAL BASTARD SWORD LIKE THIS IS NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART in the first place. My blade came nicely sharpened, definetely sharp enough to cut Tatami Mats and water bottles, etc. However,  just like any Companies sharpening service it could always use a little touch up. The grind was EXCELLENT! Whoever sharpened mine really knew what they were doing 👍🗡⚔👍! Last thing I will say is this sword is simple yet extremely FUNCTIONAL. I consider it the "Big Brother" of my Windlass "European Sword". AAAA+++++

Great hand and a half
Great sword. This is probably my tenth sword I’ve purchased from MR and again very pleased. Sword came perfectly wrapped and protected. Sword perfectly sharpened and fits in sheath like it should. Well balanced either using one hand or two. Very much recommend to anyone who wants a great sword.

No true bastard but its reliable, tough, and beautiful
I've owned this sword for over a year and a half now, and I have put it through the wringer through rain, ice, snow etc.  I gotta say I love the weight, it reminds me of a cold steel maa grosse messer when It comes to its weight, durability, and cutting abilities. You should be able to use this sword like a cold steel maa grosse messer. I have personally Cut,thrust, chop heavy wood targets, countless medium and soft targets  and used this sword as somewhat of a fancy "beater" but it refuses to compromise its integrity. Fittings still tight, blade has held edge with only having to resharpen once in a year and a half.no chips on blade, nothing. Minimal, and I mean minimal Oil and wax have kept the entire piece pitt mark, and rust free. I've had this sword out in the rain for many hours of many days, abusing it as hard as reason will allow me, and the sword looks as if it's only been hanging on the wall the entire time. Definitely recommend it at the price
