Solid saber, solid price.
Let me preface this review by expressing my appreciation to the staff at museumreplicas.com. Everyone I have delt with has been kind, professional and just fantastic in every way. I bought my first item from them when I was 14, now I'm 47 and have never had a bad experience with them.
On to the saber.  This version by cold steel is a very well made, robust and stout saber. Though not 100% historically accurate,  based on what I've found in my research ( I'm nowhere near an authority on the subject) but cold steel never claimed it was historically accurate.  The positives for me are these. The blade is strong, well made and has a nice spring temper. It's only sharpened on the upper half of the blade, which I actually like myself.  The grip is slightly larger that historical specs. I also own the windlass steelcraft version of this sword whis is said to be the most historically accurate copy ever made. I like the larger grip as I have really big hands.  The handle, guard and fittings were all nicely aligned and solidly connected.  I believe the pommel is threaded, but I don't know for sure. The leather scabbard looks nice, but feels a little flimsy to me,  but not bad. If I could change anything on this sword to improve it,  for my personal tastes, I would add a little more distal taper ( though not quite as much as is on the windless version) this would improve the weight, balance and handling which, to me would make this just about the perfect saber. Knowing these points, if you buy it, you won't be disappointed.  Hope this helps

I was I Frances by this when I saw it I love this sword it took some getting used to the hilt but once I did o man did I love it the only thing I don’t like is that it’s only a forward edge but that’s by design so I can’t complain I should of read the description my bad but for a budget sword it’s great one of the best I’ve gotten off this site  it’s worth it buy it !

Not that sharp
I literally just unboxed this. And I like it so far the balance is good for a saber my one flaw with it is that it’s not that sharp and the edge is blunt on the bottom half which may be intentional idk overall for the price I’d say it’s defanetly worth it

WTW
Beautiful sword. Lightweight when held upright, but there is no stopping its deadly heavy head when you get it going. Remained sharp even after beating a hard stump.

Not historically accurate, but certainly sturdy and capable
This one's hard for me to rate.  I'm giving it four stars because it's not historically accurate, and I was hoping it would be a better replica of the type, but as a sword I think I have to give it four stars.  It's very blade-heavy and not especially nimble, but when it gets moving it can deliver epic cuts and did a fine job on some watermelons.  The handle feels a little awkward in most cuts, and I didn't get the sense that I had good control after a big chop, but it certainly wasn't about to leave my hand - the P-guard provides additional security, there, so it's not like it's dangerous or anything.

I'm not super pleased with its historical accuracy, though: the balance is extremely blade-heavy compared to historical originals, the fuller isn't terminated properly, and the distinctive "hatchet" tip is not well-replicated and doesn't look like the image.

I am happy with the guard.  Also, the scabbard feels a little cheap, but it does its job fine.

If you're in the market for a HEAVY, durable cutting sword then this is perfectly serviceable, but as a historical replica I'm afraid I would mark it down further.

Decent for the price
I've had some shoddy items from cold steel in the past but this sword is very nice. Well balanced and sharp, solid hilt construction and fits the scabbard well. I'd avoid the steel scabbard though, I've heard it blunts the edge.
