Product reviews for The Cornwall Gown

Uhg. This gown has so much promise; unfortunately, it fails horribly. I thought it looked a little awkward on the model, and since I've always been pleased with MR purchases, I figured the issue was with the model/image: not so. The colors and fabrics are beautiful and complimentary, but that's where the positives end. The waist is FAR too short. It was tight in the chest, but bulky in the waist. The sleeves sit awkwardly and uncomfortably on the shoulders, and this brings us to the worst part: the inner sleeve. Something is seriously wrong with these things. Maybe if they came with an instruction manual I would do better, but as they are? Good luck. They look like penguin hands with weird hooks all over the place. I couldn't figure it out. I'll probably take it to a seamstress and see if they can be altered. Finally, in the coup de grace, I didn't get the "beaded belt". Luckily this is easily mended: I'll just go get some braided gold cord from the fabric store. I'm just so glad I didn't pay $265 for this. PS - It looks fine without a farthingale.
