It is sometimes required in re-enactment or historical martial arts to have a blade that, while made with real steel, does not have lethal aspects like sharpened edges or piecing tips. The Paul Chen European practical line looks to address this with high-carbon blades featuring wide edges and rounded tips. Based on a classic 11th-century pattern popular during the Norman Invasion of Britain, the guard on this sword is wider than that of the earlier Viking designs. Features a mushroom pommel and grooved, leather-wrapped grip. A scabbard with belt rings is included and is left plain for owner decoration.
