Practical Norman Sword

Manufacturer part number: SH2326

This Norman sword from the Paul Chen European practical line is a re-enactment safe blade fit for a Viking. Built for the rigors of combat training, it has a 1566 high-carbon steel blade left un-edged and un-pointed to minimize injury.
Ships separately, no express shipping available on this item. Cannot ship outside the US.

It is sometimes required in re-enactment or historical martial arts to have a blade that, while made with real steel, does not have lethal aspects like sharpened edges or piecing tips. The Paul Chen European practical line looks to address this with high-carbon blades featuring wide edges and rounded tips. Based on a classic 11th-century pattern popular during the Norman Invasion of Britain, the guard on this sword is wider than that of the earlier Viking designs. Features a mushroom pommel and grooved, leather-wrapped grip. A scabbard with belt rings is included and is left plain for owner decoration.
