OVERVIEW

This pre-tied string tie has an adjustable neck strap. Popular in the old west, they were also worn in the south, where it was too hot for traditional cravats. They became a part of Mark Twain's Mississippi River Boat Culture and could be seen worn with fancy white shirts and light suits by the infamous riverboat gamblers. They were also worn in the Teddy Boy Movement in 1950s Britain. This was the first post-war youth movement in England, where working-class youth dressed in Edwardian suits paired with thin string ties. Always worn by a certain fried chicken colonel, you'll see string ties on country music singers, square dancers, and in rockabilly fashion.

This poly-silk tie has a stiff 5” wide bow with 6” tails. The attached 3/4” band adjusts up to 22".
