Pirate Dagger

#402526
$95.00

Many weapons found their way onto pirate ships, as long as they were good weapons. This plug bayonet served a double role. It made a very effective fighting dagger with its long, wide blade, but in a pinch it could be fit in the barrel of a musket to make a short pike. The antiqued brass parts are in the form of angels and the grip is turned hardwood. The blade has a cut-out cross and comes to a keen point. Includes sheath that will fit up to a 4" belt. Made by Windlass Steelcrafts®.

At first glance the appearance of this dagger is very good.  I was extremely disappointed by the actual blade workmanship.  Upon receiving the blade I went to wipe off the blade and it bent to about a 30 degree angle.  It dId go right back to shape but needless to say I was shocked.  Upon further inspection it became obvious that the blade width at the cross punch out near the hilt is too narrow to support any type of pressure on the blade.  I bought this blade as a gift and I am appalled at the inability of this blade to take any type of pressure put to it.  I actually bent the blade back and forth and could have broken it off by doing this repeatedly.  I am extremely disappointed with this and would not recommend it to anyone.

I agree with Keith. The dagger I received seems well made. The blade has not bent when I clean it. Ray must have got the one defect of the bunch or else he used plyers with the cloth to clean his dagger.
