We are offering our stunning Viking type sword without the scabbard. This sword is adorned with a Germanic brass eagle embedded into the heavy wooden grip. The pommel and guard are of antique brass, with a hand forged high carbon steel blade. Includes matching wall plaque and certificate of authenticity. Available with scabbard (#501108) as well. It would appear that this is actually another reasonable representation of a large Roman spatha (cavalry sword)from the late empire.
The replica is entirely too heavy to actually function as a spatha and in this respect is more of a fantasy weapon. Due its deficiencies as a weapon, if I considered nothing else, I would rate it as 3 stars. On the other hand, the workmanship is quite good, so I give it total credit of 4 stars. Joe Brown
