I used this head to built a 7-foot halberd, with the MR Greek spear butt cap at the opposite end, which looks great and has good weight as a counterbalance. I used an oval red oak pole, which is about 1" on the narrow measurement, and about 1-1/4" on the long side of the oval. The oval shape feels great and allows for proper indexing, and also has greater strength along the striking axis of the oval vs. a 1" round pole. I do still wonder if the (red oak) pole is strong enough given the narrow and short socket, but I'm loathe to test it.. .. I sharpened the axe, hook, and blade edges myself. I found the inside diameter of the halberd head socket to be almost exactly 1" at its widest on mine, and the depth of the socket was right around 5" if memory serves. The socket is drilled for a pin, which is ideal as I always make and use one.

Looks just like the picture. Perfect sword and it was the cheapest one I could find. The holder had a very small cut on it but it's not even noticable.

This is my first sword and the start of my collection. It is beyond my expectations and an amazing piece.

This shield is Fantastic, it is the perfect weight and is very well made. However to be historically accurate the shield would have been warped with rawhide, or leather. This shield is much more detailed than the others, and you can tell it is hand painted.

I have had this piece for about a year, but it wasn't until last month that I wore it to the local Scottish Fair. I got many compliments on the targe, but everyone was even more impressed when I showed them the spike on the center boss!. (I wasn't allowed to have the spike attached as I walked around, but could "demonstrate" it when in a group.)
The look is not too ornate, but simple and handsome as if owned by a trusted clan warrior rather than Laird or Chieftain. Seeing several targes in museums, this is as authentic as it gets. I wore it with my back-sword and dirk, and was well kitted to be sure!

I wore this woven belt with my monks robe and it held up my German War Hammer nicely.

From the picture, I thought this gown would be more of an mauve color, but it's a pretty periwinkle blue.
It's a lovely style, and looks great with or without my Museum Replicas farthingale. I prefer it with the farthingale to keep the hem from touching the floor.
I'm 5'9" with a longer torso, about 190 lbs. I ordered a large. I was worried the waist and skirt might be too short, but both are just fine. I was able to slip the laced gown over my head, then tighten it with the waist ties, no handmaiden needed.
The gown is 100% polyester with a 100% cotton lining. The cotton lining isn't ideal to slide over my cotton farthingale, but it wasn't terrible. Might make a silk slip to go between the two for maximum drape.
