Mail Gauntlets

#300008
$90.00

To protect the back of the hand, we have added mail on our black leather gauntlets and also placed slightly cupped steel lames all around the cuff. These gauntlets offer good protection to the hand, wrist and lower arm from a sword slash or draw cut. There's a pair much like these at the Art Institute of Chicago that are highly decorative, however we have left ours plain to keep the price down and to allow them to be historically correct from the Early Middle Ages well into the Renaissance. These mail gauntlets are a must for any enthusiast.

Comfortable and offer good mobility but stiching between mail and leather has come undone slightly. Easy to repair though

I have owned a pair of these for several years.  They are a quality item.

These are good for versatile hand protection & mobility, however the stitching for these have a tendency come undone from the chain mail due to extensive use, but is rather quite repairable with a couple of pliers if you know what your doing.

Great hand and arm armor at a more affordable price than plate gauntlets or vambraces.  Both the mail and the leather show good craftsmanship.  A friendly warning though--when gripping a sword tightly with these or swinging a sword, the mail rings might dig in to any leather around the hilt and cause slight damage.

Medieval Double Wrap Belt

From the early B.C. Celts to well past the Renaissance, warriors figured out that a double wrap belt was a more comfortable way to carry a sword. But it was in Medieval times that the practice really flourished. When the extra length of belt wraps around a body the second time, both hips then support the weight of the sword. Besides the balanced suspension, this belt presents a swashbuckling appearance. Includes a frog hanger that will fit all scabbards. Made of beautiful top grade leather it is 1-3/4" wide. The Medieval Belt is available in brown with brass or black with nickel silver studs and buckle. Choose from S (28"-35"), M (33"-40"), L (38"-45") or XL 43" - 50"). All sizes are approximate.
