A very nice helmet, especially for the price. Solid construction, but a little tight getting it on the head, but once on sits very nicely on your head. Definitely a great buy.

First time buyer but am impressed with the company's communication, fast shipping and great product.
For a replica I was very satisfied with the construction and good quality for the price. Great reproduction for any man cave!
Will buy again...

Review of: Hounskull Bascinet

This helmet looks like it should cost twice as much, at least.  It is very well made and is correct in proportion.  Too often cheap bascinet helmets are not made to the correct proportion.  This looks to be based on the Churburg #16.  Though I think this helmet look better then the original since the original looks to have an ill fitting visor.  I am making aventail for this.  Only down side is visor cannot stay up. But that is fine.  I have an open faced bascinet  for that.

Review of: Hounskull Bascinet

I was really surprised when I got this especially for the price you pay. From what I remember, I read on my armory.com. This helmet weighs very close to those bascinets in the Wallace collection. I can put this on but I need some kind of arming cap because it sits a little low on my head so there’s plenty of space for an arming cap or coif. This really looks good and it’s worth the price.

Good Lord do I like this!  This helmet fits very well right out of the box and isn't so danged heavy you can't move your head!  The only issue is the the pins that hold the visor on can come out of the hinge and fall off when you are taking the hemlet off or moving it around.  I will probably drill a hole on the end and attach a chain or strap to keep them from getting lost!  Well made helmet and it looks great!!!  Having the integrated liner is a big plus!!

Review of: Tudor 16th Century Armet

This is the best helmet I’ve personally seen at this price point. I have been collecting replica armour for 30 plus years and have seen a lot of bad stuff. Pleasantly surprised by this.
As far as size the neck is tight for me but I am 6’3” 240 18.5” neck

Review of: Hounskull Bascinet

I just got this helmet yesterday, and true enough it’s a great buy. This fits extremely well and looks amazing.
While it’s true the visor doesn’t lift completely it still moves easily and comes with strapping to secure it around the back of the head. It’s also easy to see out of and came padded.
Overall, this is a great helmet for anyone. I highly recommend this hounskull as your next gear find.

Review of: Hounskull Bascinet

So this is not my first helm from MRL.  Want to change up my look a little for the fairs.  This one runs a little tighter then my first.  But still very wearable.  The visor does not even come close to lifting up enough to get it out of your way.  But that is about the only draw back.  worth every penny.

This helmet is really well done. The visor can't be held up all the way but it looks good.

Review of: Tudor 16th Century Armet

This helmet came covered in oil (thats a good thing) It's very sturdy and smooth, the adjustment was very well ranged, got it to fit perfectly, the weight is far better than armet or closed helm I've ever seen. Love it, will be looking for more props here!
