By the 3rd quarter of the 14th Century this type of helmet had emerged as the most popular form and could be found on the battle-fields all over Europe. Called "pig faced" by the English and "Hounds Skull" by the Germans, this helmet is made from 19 gauge steel and has an antiqued finish.
