I absolutely love the look of this sword. The handle is beautiful, and the three-ring hilt is artful. BUT, I ultimately ended up exchanging it for the swept-hilt rapier. I found the Deschaux to be a little too long for me (I'm only about 5'9") and it kept banging into things when I wore it. Also, I found it to be very heavy and hard to handle quickly. I think the weight and the balance and part of the problem, and it being the wrong size for me also contributed. The swept-hilt rapier feels much more natural in my hand. If you're a more compact person like me the swept-hilt is probably a better bet. If you're a big tall goon ;-) then this may be perfect for you. If it's still available when you read this, get the matching left hand dagger.

I am very impressed with my Deschaux Rapier! The workmanship is excellent and it looks and feels great. I only wish I was able to get it sharpened, but other than that, I am very pleased with it.

Delightful weapon. Well made and beautifully balanced.

Got mine on deal of the day. Fast, and deadly. My handle wrap only has 3 swirls, while the product picture has 6. But it still looks stunning. Sheath only goes up to the top of the guard, not the whole way in...wished it did.

I have an older style of this rapier since the late 70's and it is still going strong. I have used it both on stage and in more "live steel" combat exibitions than I can remember and other than a few minor "teeth" it is as good as the day I bought it!

Finely made rapier, I love the quillon and though the handle is longer than I'm used to, it 'handles' very well, well balanced and it performs moulinets nicely.

This is an outstanding rapier that I have had for a number years. Light and fast, it is an effective representative of the type. Well made for the most part. Joe Brown

This is the most lovely rapier I have ever seen. The grip feels good in the hand and the blade is perfectly light.
