Salt glazed stoneware began production in the Rhineland of Germany in the early 15th century. By the 17th century salt glazed pottery was very popular in England and the newly formed American Colonies.
This lovely set of four stoneware tasting cups is made in Germany with this same time-honored process. Each of the four cups has a graphic relating to the stories of Camelot, such as Camelot castle, the Holy Grail, Arthur’s Crown and Sir Mordred’s coat-of-arms. Each cup has a blue-grey finish, with a fired cobalt oxide based colorant for decoration.
Each measure 3-1/2” high and holds 5 oz. of your favorite beverage. Dishwasher safe.
