OVERVIEW

This mail shirt is made from intimidating butted armor which has been blackened for moisture resistance. Reminiscent of the Black Prince, who purposefully let his mail darken to a blackish hue, this shirt features 16 gauge links combined in the "international" pattern.  Common to all European mail, the international pattern utilizes 4 links through a 5th. Faithfully copied from examples in museums and private collections, the diameter of each outer link is about 7/16” and the inner link diameter is about 3/8”. Mail shirts fit up to a 54” chest, 33” long shirt, sleeves are approximately 18” and hang to just below the elbows on average height warriors. We recommend keeping this mail oiled at all times. Made by Windlass Steelcrafts. Express delivery not available on mail. Mail Shirts add $6 each additional s/h.

A dream realized
I love this mail. I have wanted a chain mail  shirt since i was a teenager. When i finally got it i was not disappointing. Bear in mind, if you have never wore a chain shirt, it is not easy on easy off.  20 plus pounds, so now i truly understand the need for a squire. the sleeves are very long as well. Im about 5'10, 5'11 and i can tuck the mail under my bracers. Also it comes with heavy amount of grease on it, so before driving to your cosplay even or renfair, put down a towel or get some good degreaser  for it or you will have a pretty permanent mess on your hands. The price is very low considering the quality. Don't buy other chain mail. Buy Windlass. It delivers.

This is an absolute must for any armour: Chainmail. The black chainmail is a nice unique version to your armour. This version has a big impact to those who see it on you. It also gives a nice contrast to any armour plate you wear on top of it. Wearing chainmail for the first time,is also interesting. The weight is 23 pounds added to your own. You can feel it in the feet. It also "stretches" in the chest, very odd at first. Museum Replicas did a very good job creating this armour. Most of the links where well butted together. I waited about six months for the chainmail to arrive. It was worth the wait. Remember: they make these by hand in India. It took me a month to make a 9x9 square of chainmail. Thier hard work is worth your wait. I love this armour. Get one, it's all worth it.
