Battle Axes, Tomahawks and Handles

Battle Axes could be single or double-edged. Used primarily as a cutting weapon, they were capable of dismembering the enemy in one fell swoop. Not only were they used for close contact fighting, but they could also be hurled as a missile.

Seems very sturdy.  Mine is sharp.  Haven't taken it chopping yet, but I'm sure it will do the job!

Review of: Viking Throwing Axe Replacement Handle

When I bought the engraved Viking axe-head, I went ahead and bought this extra wooden shaft in case the first one was damaged somehow or came loose and could not be fixed.  I just love that such items are made available for weapons that could actually break during use.  It also came with a stained wooden sheave that you can slice off a bit to hammer into the top of the wooden handle to tighten the shaft part inside of the axe-head.  This shows foresight, and I appreciate things like that as I like to be prepared for things that might logically go wrong over time. Very nice.

Review of: Viking Throwing Axe

With the neo-Viking engraving on the head, I was definitely not expecting this axe to be so solid. Sharper than I expected as well, took a beating with no looseness in the handle. I'm not that great at throwing, but was able to stick 7 out of 12 throws right from the box!
