Heavy but nice looking
This one is heavy and slower in the hand than it needs to be. It is  of solid construction  though and looks great.

Good overall, but some issues need to be addressed.
Overall, a good sword that still feels good  in the hand, but there are some issues I noticed.
A bit too much metal in the guard, which makes it more heavy than it needs to be. Mine has segments that are kinda square in the cross-section and should be rounded out; this would lighten the sword without sacrificing durability.
The center ridge isn't perfectly straight, but workable.

New Favourite, But..
This sword is beautiful. No question about it. The mirror finish is immaculate and the wire wrap is even and tight. Some of the welds are pretty crappy on the complex hilt, and the peen cap arrived chipped clean in half, but it doesn't bother me that much considering how well the sword is balanced. However, the big problem I have is with the sharpening service. I have other swords from MR and the sharpening is fine. Not perfect but fine. It will do. But on this one they brought the 90° undharpened edges standard with Windlass swords all the way down to a staggering 88° edge. Jokes aside, it's so dull I couldn't even cut to the chase in my review. Beautiful sword though still. Just a $20 nitpick.

Beastly sidesword.
This thing is legendary.  It's a heavy, solid sidesword.  The guard is modeled on a very popular style which was very common throughout Renaissance Germany.  The guard is actually the reason I picked this sword - it's one of my personal favorite styles.  Here, it's executed very well - especially for the price.  It's very solidly constructed, providing good hand protection.  Especially good is the rear quillon, with which I was able to trap an opponent's blade so effectively in a (light) sparring session that we had to call time in order to extract it.

The handle is wire-wrapped.  The blade is stiff, with no excessive flex, and would doubtless take an edge if sharpened.

The sword, in total, is heavy - I've heard that the pommel is often removed (it's a screw-cap) and replaced with a lighter version, but I haven't done that personally.  For me, it's fine as a training weapon or display piece.  Highly recommended as a budget historical piece, and great to see sideswords on the market at anything approaching this price point.  Exceptional value.

Heavy, but good
First, I don't practice HEMA, but I've done some epee fencing. I understand a little about how to use a thrusting type sword. As for this, a cut and thrust sword, I feel it is quite heavy to cut with. This is mostly because of how it is meant to be gripped, it just doesn't feel the same as a lot of other one handed cutting swords. As for thrusting, I think this thing will go through most opponents pretty easily. The hand guard feels good, and is very aesthetically pleasing.

Overall, I'd give it a 4/5 mainly because I feel  it is a bit awkward to swing with. It is great to thrust with, , the guard feels good, and every design aspect looks wonderful.

A bit disappointed
It’s a really cool looking, well balanced, and well made sword. There are however a few imperfections such as some discoloring of the metal, a knick on the pommel, and the guard isn’t properly lined up with the blade. It’s got some problems sadly.

Two Thumbs Up!
Very interesting sword. Styled like a rapier, but with a wider and thicker blade, which makes it much more blade heavy. Very well constructed. I recommend.

Great for Busting Up Bar Fights
The sword feels heavy at the hilt, but it balances at 4-5" above the hilt, just as it should. I found the handle was a bit short for my medium sized hands, so I reduced the bead at the bottom end with a Dremel tool. It was easy to do and added the necessary length. This is an excellent cut and thrust design - with emphasis on the thrust.

A good sword
I am very happy with this sword. It is beautiful and sturdy. It's a great sword for a person who is looking for a thrusting weapon but wants something a bit heftier and better for slashing/chopping, which I was.

Great sword!
Wow this thing! It feels significantly heavier than I expected, but I've never had anything other than katanas before, so this is actually my first one handed sword. That said, the construction is solid, and it feels good to hold. I don't think you'd be able to outmatch someone with a rapier using this thing, but it feels like it'd certainly fits the definition of a cut and thrust sword. My only real complaint is that the engraving is way smaller than I had hoped, but it was only an extra $5, so it's not a big deal. This is my first sword from Windlass Steelcrafts, and it's left a pretty good impression on me.

Lovely sword
I absolutely love this sword! It is perfect for my interpretation of Dread Pirate Roberts in cosplay. As I am not big on rapiers. It is like a hybrid between arming sword and rapier. Suits me extremely well.

Munich Sword
This is the one I'd grab off the wall!

It has very different balance as noted by other reviewers, most swords demand a glove/gauntlet be worn to "come alive" but this one more than most.

It really is a "Guard Sword" it wants to be held up to guard your face ready to deliver a right cross or skull bash.
The blade is heavy enough to break a drunken fops rapier and quick enough deliver a few nasty cuts of your own with a point that will pierce light armor with ease!

Wonderful Sword
This is my second purchase in the same week from Museum Replicas.  Just like my first purchase of a rapier, this item was delivered timely and well packed.  I had this sword sharpened and was delighted with the edge.  It's a serious weapon.  The weight and balance are great for my size.  Workmanship is outstanding.  For the price, it is an excellent piece.  I will definitely be a returning customer.

My favorite sword do far. Incredible value for the money. It is absolutely beautiful to look at, well balanced for the weight, and arrived hair-shaving sharp - kudos to the sharpening service. This is a very versatile type of sword that lends itself to a variety of fighting styles, rapier or broadsword, and should be a good general representation of weapons used in the 30 Years War...a transitional period in warfare tactics from renaissance to early modern, that saw a large variety of blades used.
The sword is very functional weapon,it slices and stabs through milk bottles effortlessly. I did not test it on harder items since I did not want to mar the beautiful blade.
The only drawback for me was that the scabbard does appear a little flimsy and of questionable quality, but I understand they have to save money somewhere to be able to offer this sword at such an amazing price, and I rather have them save money on the scabbard than the blade.
Overall, you will NOT regret buying this.

I picked up this sword as a "Deal of the Day" purchase, and it was certainly a good price for what you get... a LOT of steel! The advertised weight of this beast is three pounds, but mine weighs well over half a pound more at nearly 3.6 pounds. This is a really attractive sword suitable for chopping through saplings and the occasional Plymouth.
If you were to picture a medieval bouncer in a rowdy Biergarten, then THIS would be the sword for him! This isn't made as a fencing or dueling sword since there's too much weight to it to be reasonably controllable. This was made to end a brawl or fight with one swing, and put the fellow DOWN.
If you weigh in at about 300+ pounds or are a body builder, then you might be able to control this sword, but if you're an average guy (or even a bit above average) then this is not a fencing weapon, but rather a solid steel hay-maker!
It's solid as a rock and nice looking so it would look fine for display. In a bad situation though, one need only strike once, and the threat is down... (miss however, and you'll have a lot of trouble bringing it back around!)
A fun sword!
