OVERVIEW

This saber was widely used by the British and their Prussian allies under General Blucher in the Battle of Waterloo. The blade was derived from the ferocious Indian Talwar and was reviled by the French who protested its use due to the horribly destructive wounds it inflicted. In fact, this saber was so successful as a cutting weapon, that the German Cavalry continued to use it right up to the beginning of the 20th century!

If you want a combat quality saber that will pass the British Proof Test and is fully capable of tremendous shearing cuts this is a must-have! It comes with a sharpened forward edge and all-metal scabbard. 1055 Carbon steel blade. Also available with leather scabbard.

Great 1796 saber
Great 1796. This is by far one of my favorite swords in my collection both as display and use. For the price, it is very accurately detailed and balanced for use. I use this sword to practice Sabre drills based on Angerlos manual for officers. It came factory edged and in a metal sheath. It looks and feels great in the hand. Great replica sword
