This elaborately carved pewter war axe head pendant has raised Celtic knot-work carving. The reverse is engraved with "Hearthweru" - Saxon for Hearth-Guard.

OVERVIEW

This Skeggox Axe Pendant is a powerful Viking symbol. The elaborately carved Anglo-Saxon warrior's bearded war axe head depicts a complex knot-work dragon motif. The reverse is engraved with "Hearthweru", Saxon for Hearth-Guard, by which the elite Household Warriors were known. This Viking axe head is made in England of fine pewter with embossed Celtic knot-work carving and a polished blade edge.

Measures approximately 2” tall x 1-1/2" wide with a 28" leather thong with clasp.
