Sweet Axe!
The axe came plenty sharp and was put together very well. It is a true pleasure to swing. I customized mine by removing the black finish and polishing the blade and staining the handle. It is a nice addition for any axe lover.

Good but breaks quick
I like this battle axe alot. The hefty weight behind it, the versatility of the head, and the lovely ring it makes when it hits. I would be my favorite piece, but the lagnet rivets come out real easy after a few good swings. Looking closer, after hitting a felled rotten tree a few times the front lagnet ripped off the head entirely and the side ones ripped all the way to the rivet. In the course of 15 minutes, this axe went from a functional piece to a wall hanger.

Nice Axe
MR's axe offerings have always been more miss than hit with me. Most look beautiful in pictures but show up unsharpened without a realistic way to get a true edge on one.

Not so with the Orleans Battle Axe, complete with its top spike and rear spike.

I would like to see more of their axes done in this manner...double bladed battle axes, the Dragon Hunter axe, etc.

They finally got it right!

Like it a lot! Going to add leather wrap to grip and to cover langets for more comfortable/versatile handling. I have several axes and this my new favorite.

Just about the perfect size and weight for a battle axe, the Orleans Battle Axe is a sturdy, well-balanced weapon. The top and rear spikes are quite large and sharp, and should be effective against mail or even plate armor. The ax head will likewise cut through just about anything it hits - if you provide the strength to do so! I especially like the dark "stone-washed" finish of this item. It provides the rust protection of stainless with none of the inherit weaknesses of that material, plus it looks great, very medieval. Good, solid langets add strength and enhance the appearance of this axe. In all, a fine addition to any weapons collection.

Wow!  This is the one I have wanted for years.  There are so few axes with a top spike/blade, and the ones that are out there are poorly proportioned for combat.  This is shaped exceptionally well for combat--the blade, top spike, and spike are proportional so that it falls (from a horse or off) through a cut like a saber without interference.
The bottom of the blade is also well thought out as many of the axes of this type can get bound up when you hook during sparring.  This can hook well, but will not bind itself.  I am extremely please with this.
I take off a star because the langets and shaft are not so well married, which is often the problem with langets.
Nevertheless, as I won't be going into combat with it soon, but I will be using it for forms and sparring, I can say that I finally have the axe I have been looking for for years.
Also, for the price, the quality is wonderful.
Well done Mr. Clements and well done Museum Replicas.

My first medieval axe and there is nothing I don't like about it! From the finish to the way it feels this piece is melon death in my hands.
