Nice cutlass!!!
Really nice cutlass, good fit and finish. Weight is nice, but heavy at the hilt.
Overall a really nice sword! :),

Arghsome!
Much better quality than I expected. Well balanced, comfortable grip, nice thick spine. I ordered mine unsharpened for a festival. Afterward I sharpened it. Sharpening was easy and I was able to get a razor sharp edge. Very pleased.

Captain Jack Sparrow's Sword
This is a beautiful, well-made, well-balanced  sword. Possibly a dead-ringer replica of Captain Jack Sparrow's weapon.

Fantastic Sword
I've had this sword at least 6 years now.
I keep it oiled with choji and have had no trouble at all with rust. I purchased mine sharpened and it still has a razor sharp edge but then again I don't use it for chopping and hacking.. I didn't realize it when I bought it but it appears to be the same sword Captain Jack Sparrow has in the movies.

Good value hanger
This is a solid example of an "age of piracy" hanger.  The blade is straight and well made, the hilt and grip are solid.  The sheath is quite firm,  it holds the sword quite snugly.
I ordered the sharpening service, and they did a fine job.  And, the sword shipped within a day of ordering. Well done Museum Replicas!

Pirate Captain's Hanger sword
There are many positive aspects of my purchase of this sword and I recommend it.

1.  The sword has a solid feel when held, and the tang goes all the way back into the hilt for a tight fit with no looseness or rattling at all.  This is not a cheaply made sword.  It's of good quality.

2.  The appearance of the sword and scabbard look realistic, and it's fairly similar in appearance to that used by Captain Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, although not identical.

3. The weight and balance of the sword is good.  It's not too heavy or too light.

4.  If you buy the sword when it is listed as the Deal of the Day,  you will have an incredibly good buy.  The normal price is $189 but my price was $129, which was a $60 dollar saving and almost 32%  discount.  There is no other sword and scabbard combination like this that sells for $129.  If you see it offered as the Deal of the Day, buy it!

5.  I had the sword shipped with standard delivery speed and it arrived 2 days after my purchase.   That is amazing!

------

I would really like to give this sword a 5-star rating, but there were a few issues that caused me to give a 4-star rating.

1.  My main complaint is that the darkened color of the paint used on the sword's hilt is darker than normal antique brass color.  There is a photo of the sword with a rope in the background that shows a lighter appearance.  The other photos show the true dark color.  I don't know if the Windlass company originally made the sword with the lighter antique brass appearance but now it is much darker.  I would describe the color as a flat black with some hint of antique brass underneath.  I still like the sword but I wish it had a lighter antique brass color.

2.  My sword fit very tight in the scabbard both when removing it and inserting it at first.  It looks as if the interior leather has separated from the scabbard case because the air gap inside was nearly closed when I first looked.  I was able to widen the air gap inside by inserting and removing the sword several times and by inserting  wide scissors to pry open the leather.  Also leaving the sword installed in the scabbard has helped.  I suspect the glue that holds the leather to the case is not holding properly.  After many attempts to widen the air gap inside the scabbard, the sword later was able to be removed and inserted with less resistance.

3.  The scabbard lacks a knob on the upper opening piece which would help it from falling out of a baldric when the sword is removed.  I plan to buy a baldric with a strap that can be tightened to secure the scabbard in place.

------

There are few other comments I will make for anyone wanting to know more about this sword and scabbard.

1.  The sword's blade and hilt and the tip of the scabbard are made of steel.

2.  The hand grip of the hilts appears to be synthetic rather than leather, but it has a leather look and fits comfortably when held.

3.  The scabbard body is made of black plastic with an outer appearance that resembles leather.  The upper opening of the scabbard is also made of plastic not metal unlike the tip.

4.   Follow the instructions provided. for care of the sword.   Do not use the sword for mock fights with other swords.  Dings and scratches in the blade could occur.  Also do not store the sword in the scabbard for long periods of times because rust on the steel blade could occur from humidity absorbed by the leather inside the scabbard.

5. Unless you absolutely want a sharpened blade, I would not recommend it.  A sharpened blade will most likely cut into the leather and case inside the scabbard.

------

In summary,  I do recommend this sword.  It's not a cheaply made sword and most people would be very happy with it.

Great Pirate Sword!
Simple, light & quick. This is a great little short sword. Well assembled. Tight fightings. The aging on the guard/pommel and the scabbard hardware is well applied and does not look cheap. I highly recommend this piece.

Nice Sword
The brass parts were a little darker than I thought they would be, but still a very nice sword with a classic pirate look.  It currently occupies the top rung on my display rack.

Great blade. A touch heavy-handled, but the weight adds well to the upward thrust of the blade design.  Only 4 stars due to color variation. Mine is quite a bit darker(guard/pommel/scabbard tip-wise) than shown.  No worries, though.  Still looks great!
