Slightly disappointed
Ordered this in December along with it being sharpened. Got it the other day. While it is a nice looking blade it would not cut paper or cloth. Granted Museum Replicas offered a sharpening refund or I could return it to have it resharpened. Shipping cost to return it was more than the sharpening service fee.  So I took the refund, sadly 😥.

More than cool, Impressive!!
Without a doubt one of the coolest things I own, not just in edged weaponry, but of ALL the things I own!! Such a unique blade, a big, wide central rib. If this was your last option in a bear encounter the odds would be even! Well..I'm not saying to try it, but it is a very impressive. Will apply some tung oil to the wood this summer..

Spectacular Dagger
I just received this dagger in the mail.  Opened it and was absolutely delighted with the purchase.  I ordered it sharpened (let's face it...what's the point of having a dagger if not sharp).
A very nice blade, sharp point.  Balance is great.  The handle feels nice in the hand.  Beautiful finish on the wood handle makes for a comfortable and stable grip.  Outstanding dagger for the money.  Well worth the purchase.

Although I had never seen this handsome dagger listed in one of the MR catalogues, I found it while browsing the website, and SHAZAM! I became intrigued.  Because of the length of the slim blade and the artistic values of the grip and pommel (which I would call "tulip-shaped," rather than "fishtail," a minor quibble) I expected this dagger to be lightweight; however, when it arrived and I could handle it, I found that my expectation was wrong:  this is a serious weapon with a battle-worthy blade and a solid heft. The thick medial ridge contributes to the weight of the blade and makes it a genuine armour-piercer capable of thrusting through a mail hauberk as if it were canvas.  The handle is beautifully contoured and provides a secure grip.  An outstanding dagger overall!

An excellent and very sharp and sturdy blade!  There are minor blemishes in the fishtail hilt, but that's manageable with some very light buffing.  I purchased this along with the Venetian stiletto, and both measure up to their sales presentation.  As with any of the daggers, if you want to wear it without tucking it inside your belt, you'll need a frog. With my prior purchase of the Medici dagger, the Jambia, Seax, Coustille sword, and the Russian kindjal, I've pretty well wrapped up my requirements for short blades, but there are still many tantalizing products on my wish list.  Five stars!

I bought this with the sharpened blade.  I am very impressed with the dagger as a whole.  This is clearly designed as a thrusting/stabbing type dagger, and although it is nicely sharpened along both sides the thick ridge in the center would probably provide significant resistance to any deep cutting from slashes or chops.  But, that ridge also makes it a darn strong blade.  Everything is solidly assembled with no wiggles and the dagger stays snugly in the nice sheath when not being used.  I also really like the darkwood handle.
