OVERVIEW

This one-handed Medieval practice sword is the perfect companion for medieval combat training in a completely safe manner. A wooden sword, or waster, allowed a warrior to practice full combat safely and economically while preserving his precious steel for the real battle to come.
These are fully seasoned and handcrafted in steamed beechwood, with a contrasting wood guard and pommel. Strong enough to meet the needs of today's swordsman or woman, they can take the abuse of sparring and re-enacting, even edge-to-edge. Keep in mind, however, that wood can break along the grain. The Medieval Practice Weapon design represents edged weapons common from the 12th to 15th centuries. Made by Windlass Steelcrafts.
  • Overall Length: 38-1/4"
  • Blade Length: 31-3/4"
  • Blade Width: 2"
  • Weight: 1 lb
  • Material: Steamed Beechwood

Medieval soldier training sword
Quality is superb. A bit on the heavy side but I suppose that just makes it that more authentic. Highly recommend.

Practice Weapons Eval
A useful but too light a training piece, prone to cracking or splintering. A better option would be rattan.

Just Right
It's just what I expected. It has the right proportions and heft. A good first step to the metal stuff.

Great sword very sturdy but practicing against a cold steel hand and a half sword with a person twice your size it does not last forever.
