Khula Khud Helmet

This type of Indo-Persian fighting helmet saw battle from ancient times through the 19th century throughout the Near East, including Turkey, Arabia, India, and as far east as Burma. No two were alike; each was highly engraved and influenced by the local culture as well as the individual armorer decorating the helmet. This one is crafted of solid brass skillfully engraved with a highly detailed floral pattern. The mail aventail is also made of brass and protects the neck, shoulders, and sides of the face (on some of the original specimens, the aventail even covered the eyes!) The brass nasal bar is also ornately embellished and is designed to protect the nose from sword blows. It can be adjusted up to 3” and is secured in place with an ornate brass screw that has an oversized head. Features an adjustable leather liner and chin strap.
