This mythical Durandal sword was given to King Charlemagne, King of the Franks, by an angel and was then given to his most fierce paladin, Roland. There are countless ideas of what this blade would have looked like. We have decided to go with a more fantastical medieval interpretation of this sword.
The wide blade is hand-forged from 1065 high-carbon steel. Both the metal cross guard, grip band and pommel have been lavishly plated in sterling silver. The large pommel also sports the coat of arms of Charlemagne on the one side, with the Face of a lion on the other, representing the bravery of Roland. The grip is wrapped in blood red leather with an embossed scrolling pattern. The sword comes with a heavy period scabbard and double belts, also made of the same matching blood red leather.
Can be personalized with 3 initials.
