Medieval

The Medieval period lasted almost 1000 years, from the end of the Roman Empire to the dawn of the Renaissance. It was a time of re-organization, with key advances in society, government, and religion. This time period gave us mythical figures like King Arthur as well as dark eras like the Spanish Inquisition and the Black Death plague. But this was also a time of advancement in weapons and armor, as well as clothing, art, and architecture. This is the era that brought us chivalry, a code of conduct where knights served not only their lord, but all his people and his motherland. Immerse yourself in history at MuseumReplicas.com, where we carry an extensive selection of accurately researched medieval weapons, arms, armor, and clothing.

Crusades

The Crusades began in the late 11th century. Between 1096 and 1291, there were eight major Crusades. These military expeditions' goal was to retake control of the Holy Land, stop the spread of Islam and recapture former Christian territories. The bloody, violent and often ruthless conflicts propelled the status of European Christians in the fight for land in the Middle East.

Several knightly military orders were formed during this period, including the Knights Templar, the Teutonic Knights, and the Hospitallers. Their purpose was to defend the Holy Land and pilgrims traveling to and from the region.

Museum Replicas carries a wide & well-researched selection of top-quality clothing, weapons, and armor of this turbulent period. You will be the envy of every knight. Were Richard the Lionheart alive, he undoubtedly would have enjoyed our line of romantic, regal attire and the battle-ready weapons, shields, and armor.

Napoleonic Era

The Napoleonic era was relatively short, starting in 1799 and ending in 1815 with the Battle of Waterloo.

Napoleon Bonaparte was born in 1769.  He was serving in the army when the French Revolution started in 1789 and quickly rose to general. In 1799, he led a coup d'état, seizing power and establishing the French Consulate. In 1804 he declared himself Emperor and set out to conquer Europe.

Over the next ten years, his armies acquired control of most of continental Europe by conquest or alliance. The ill-fated invasion of Russia in 1812 was a turning point. Napoleon abdicated the throne in 1814 and was sent to exile on the island of Elba. The next year, he escaped from Elba and briefly returned to power. This was known as the Hundred Days Campaign, which ended with Napoleon's defeat at the Battle of Waterloo in June 1815. He was then exiled to the remote island of St. Helena in the South Atlantic, where he died in 1821. He was 51 years old.

American Frontier

The American Frontier is the Westward expansion of the colonies in the early 17th century. Popular culture and the entertainment industry are focused on the Western US in the second half of the 19th century, post Civil War, a period sometimes called the Old West or the Wild West.  The reality was it wasn't always that wild- farming, mining, railroads, lumber and other industries were growing and were the driving forces of the day.

We see an interesting mix of the Alamo, the Lone Ranger, Gary Cooper, Clint Eastwood, John Wayne, Texas Rangers, Jim Bowie, cattle rustlers, gamblers, gun fighters and outlaws.  The Hatfields and McCoys, Billy the Kidd, Butch Cassidy the James Gang all seem romantic now.  The frontier transformed Americans and inspired our offerings.  We carry tomahawksBowie knivesfrontier décor, powder horns and so much more.  Whether you side with the romance of it all or the wild side often portrayed in books, TV and film, we’ve got something interesting that captures the spirit of the American Frontier.   Made from authentic materials, often replicated from originals of the era, we have brought the frontier back.

Review of: French Napoleonic 1801 Cuirassier Sword

Wow!  To say I am very impressed with my French Napoleonic 1801 Cuirassier Sword is an understatement to say the least.  When you pull this sword out of its scabbard, you immediately know you are holding a very heavy, high quality crafted sword in every way.  It's length, weight and craftsmanship is incredible ... and it is extremely sharp!  You can't help but imagine the fear that must have gripped the British squares at Waterloo when the French Cuirassier heavy cavalry came thundering towards them with these awesome thrusting weapons.  Couldn't be more happier.  Kudos to Windlass Steelcrafts!

This sword is the real deal! It’s solid and heavy and one can easily see how the French Cuirassier was such a powerful force on the battlefield. I love it!

Review of: Battlecry Espada Ropera

Love this sword. Its blade isn’t as long as some others like the Musketeer rapier, making it easier to draw and wield.  The craftsmanship is superb. Definitely pricey but I think it’s worth the quality.
