Was nervous about the rivet retainers for the head, they are very secure, handle is nice and hammer has nice heft to it. Only issue was a small ding on the spike head.

Heavy War Hammer
It's a beast and I can see Robert the Bruce in Battle with this hammer. Great with a Targe and with an authentic look.

This thing is awesome!
This is my second warhammer from Museums Replicas Limited and I'm more impressed with the Heavy War Hammer than even my last one! They call it heavy and it is, but not overly so. I can comfortably swing it with one hand or two for more powerful blows. The weight is nicely balanced, comfortable and fast to swing quickly and accurately. This is a solidly built, tough weapon that could take an enemy right off his feet! This hammer is one of my favorite weapons! If you're looking for something to put some hurt on someone in a hurry, this is the weapon for you.

No joke
Mine just arrived today and man is this thing fun! Looks like a decorative piece and weilds like it was made to break things. As others have noted, this thing isn't for the faint of heart but swings like a kid at the park. The first in what will be my new collection of hammers.

The Name Says It All
I was pleasantly surprised at the quality. This is a sturdy, heavy duty weapon. Strong enough for role-play and attractive enough for wall display. I would definitely recommend this for the price.

Best Hammer by MRL?
I own another War Hammer from (brand x). And while still a fine hammer, not to brag, I am a larger warrior at 5' 8, 200 pounds of muscle, who trains regularly. So when "Heavy" Warhammer arrived I was not disappointed !!! When they say heavy they mean it !! Not too heavy as to be unwieldy in one hand, but NOT for the faint of heart. A GREAT shield/hammer combo. The etching is a very nice touch. As in all wood products it may shrink/swell a tiny bit, which I DID notice here in Florida, but nothing to worry about and barely noticeable. My only complaint is the lack of some sort of buttcap. But that's an easy fix. Love this Hammer, quickly became my favorite 👍 -Casey in FL

The War Hammer was developed to overcome surface hardened steel of wrought iron armors of the late medieval battlefields during the 14th and 15th centuries. Sword points would not penetrate the armor. With the War Hammer, you knock down the foe with full force of the hammer end and then deliver the final blow with the spiked end to the thinner parts of the armor. Nasty weapon indeed. This War Hammer is beautiful. Excellent steel, design and workmanship. The langets fasten the head to the handle with brass screws and the langets also protect both sides down the handle for 12.5 inches. Balances well with one or two hands. Just the right size. This is a keeper at a good price. Love it!!!!

*Drool*... ugh.. sooooo awesome. It arrived less than a week after ordering (in flawless condition), and I promptly destroyed some pallets with a vengeance. The spike actually snapped a treated 4x4 in half with one good swing! I swear to god it was the coolest thing ever. Perfect zombie killer -- you could puncture an engine block with this thing. The only downside is that the handle on it is much lighter (unfinished) than in the picture, but some tongue oil will fix that right up. Can't wait til the wife leaves again so I can find more useless crap to destroy. Well done windlass!
