Bought two, one was perfect, good feel, head nicely mounted and secure. the second head come off in the box during shipping. Had to replace wedge, not a big deal but disappointing.

Axe head great, handle not so much
I bought a pair of these axes and took them to my local axe club. I shall start with the positives.

The axe head is of outstanding design. It has a great weight, solid design, and the engraving is beautiful. The handle length was just right for me at 6'3" on a regulation lane.

The con is really only in the handle. It only took a few throws (the majority of them sticking the target) for the head to become loose. Thats not uncommon for axes of this design. The standard way to reseat them is to strike them on the floor, handle down. Unfortunately these handles do not have any flair at the end. Before too long the head could be pulled off of either end of the handle, making them unsafe to throw.
I noticed that the replacement handles come with a wedge to set it securely, so this seems to be a known issue.

I still highly recommend this axe, just be prepared to buy the replacement handle from the beginning or have one custom made that will preform better.

Massive Axe-head with Very Nice Engraving
I bought this axe for my daughter's 15th birthday.  I have given my sons their first knives/axes at age 11, as I myself received from my father, but I waited longer for my daughter.  She was disappointed it wasn't jewelry that she expected.  Aside from that, this axe is very nice. The engraving is beautiful against the dark steel axe head.  Don't know how they made it dark like that, but it looks great.  Handle is also strong and easy to grip, with an oval shaped wood shaft that helps prevent loosening or rotation of the axe-head.  I don't know if it is a throwing axe, since it's heavily weighted towards the axe head -- more so than any other axe I have had before.  That said, it would probably tear through any armor because of the sheer weight of the axe-head.  Although I bought it mostly for the design, I may take it for a few swings on the woodpile.  If you like engraved designs on practical weapons, then this is a good choice.

Very nice for the price.
With the neo-Viking engraving on the head, I was definitely not expecting this axe to be so solid. Sharper than I expected as well, took a beating with no looseness in the handle. I'm not that great at throwing, but was able to stick 7 out of 12 throws right from the box!
