Product reviews for English Arming Gambeson

As soon as I got the package, I immediately put it on, and it's a very good fit! I was afraid it was going to be a tad big, but it fits nicely! The only issue I have with this gambeson is putting it on and taking it off. It fits perfectly under my vest, so I'm happy with it! It'll be a good wear as a part of my ranger's outfit during the winter!

Does run small, XL won't fit over my 48" chest.  Shame, looks nice, on the light side tho for protection use.

As another reviewer stated, this runs small. Go a size up to be able to move comfortably. I usually wear a M/L and in this case the L left me with exposed wrists and belly line - short and tight. The neck opening is also completely symmetric (front and back) which makes the fit slightly awkward. The pic makes it look like perhaps a lighter alternative to other gambesons on the market. While the construction may indeed be a tad lighter, it is heavier than it appears in the pictures. It appears to be well made, as far as the seems go and such. That's a good thing for it's assumed intended purpose of wearing under chain/plate in cool weather, not so much for wearing to the faire when it is 90+ degrees outside, lol.

If you order this, go one size up. Aside from it being sized small, no complaints about the Gambeson. Perfect for the look I needed and when I discovered it was small, MR handled the exchange flawlessly. Been a customer for a while. Will continue to be.

Product does not have a high collar. Material wasn't great, sitting ripped immediately while putting it on. It looked good for a moment but I don't suggest buying it. Not worth the almost hundred dollars. I'm usually not overly critical of museum replicas items but I wasted 100 dollars on this particular piece. Unfortunately it was made so poorly I can't even return it, most of it fell apart... sad
