Very disappointed
I received my late period war hammer via fed Ex today. The delivery and processing were very fast and I was very happy with that. What I was unhappy about was to see the corrosion on the shaft under the hammer. The "Cord wrapped" grip is a laugh as it is nothing but sewing thread.
i expected far more from Museum Replicas.

Good warhammer
Solid construction and heavy head.  The long shaft marks this as a weapon, as does the anti-armor pick on the back-end.  The handle is wrapped in thread, which honestly doesn't inspire much confidence but I guess it gives decent traction.  The flat end of the hammer is business-like and could be used as a tool if the handle weren't quite as long as it is (which would make it hard to aim properly).  There is also a guard, which would combine with gauntlets to provide very good hand-protection.

Overall gives a good sense of what it would have been like to wield one of these weapons in battle.

Great War Hammer
I purchased this as a deal of the day.  Great price...fast delivery.  It came well packed and in very good condition.  Some have complained of imperfections.  Mine was in very good condition although the cord wound handle did look somewhat dirty...I'm assuming from the handling of it by the packer who probably had oil on his hands from the hammer itself.....yes....it is well oiled so be careful.
As far as a weapon....this would be formidable.  A good weight that could cause serious damage and a spiked end that would easily penetrate metal.  It adds nicely to my collection of various items from MR.  I've had great service and experience with MR.
Will definitely order again.

One of the better ones!
This has to be one of Windlass Steelcraft's/Museum Replicas best designs. It is a sturdy piece with just enough heft without being too weighty. Perfect for a medieval knight or footman to wield and looks like it came directly from a museum! Very happy with this piece!

A Mighty War Hammer that is solid as a block of steel and has unbelievably devastating power on the down swing.  This is a heavy weapon, but shows well.

Love the beauty of the piece but just can't give a good review. Very fast delivery. Arrived with scuffing and nicks/chips on the left side of the head back near the spike. Also chips/nicks on the left side and bottom of hammer head. The disc above the grip is not perpendicular to the shaft of the weapon instead being mounted at a slight angle(enough so to be quite noticeable). The cording around the handle arrived dirty and oil stained. Nor does it look like the photo on this website. Mine either came with a much bigger disc or a lot less cording around the handle. Spike is not even remotely sharp. The box it arrived in was not visibly damaged. I really wanted to love the piece but found it a bit of a disappointment. order#696597

Very solid and effective.  The spike could easily puncture any armor.  The Hammer would provide a crushing blow.  The handle is nicely wrapped for a solid grip.

A beautiful peice for any collection.  Be careful of the spike because it is wickedly sharp, and the head will crush anything.
