OVERVIEW

Circa 1500

Standing in Eastern Europe, Hungary was often warring with both the west and east. Though a western type feudal state, they were also alternately allied and at war with Byzantium too. This abundance of cultural exposure was echoed in their weapons. The eastern influence shows well in this heavy saber, capable of powerful blows from horseback or foot. The saber has a short guard and large pommel, both of brass, and the grip is wood covered in leather. Includes scabbard. Made by Windlass Steelcrafts. Can be sharpened for additional fee.

Simple yet deadly
A sword with amazing handling for my form practice.  It has no distal taper, which makes it a little trickier to wield at first -- but once your grip strength is conditioned, the blade soars.  I can totally see this sword being deadly with its geometry.  I love the simplicity brass and leather on the handle and scabbard, and it has solid construction.

Very nice little heavy
Very pretty. Kinda heavy at the point. Really kinda heavy actually. Could be that is meant to be for mounted combat. I do like it though. Would buy again

Great sword
This sword is light and quick, I had it sharpened by museum replicas and the did a great job. Very effective cutter with little effort.

I love this sword! I can definitely tell this is a handcrafted item. The brass fittings, guards, and pommel are very secure. I'm amazed at how light the blade feels in my hands. The guard does not feel awkward at all and the leather grip gives great traction. The scabbard fits real snug, but doesn't hinder fast drawing. This saber is full of character!

This is a beautiful Saber. The cast brass guard and pommel are of the highest quality. The blade is made of good steel with a great curve to it. Leather grip feels good. The sheath has nice leather and hardware and fits the Saber well. The weight of the sword is on the heavy side but has good balance. It arrived in perfect condition. This would be a steal at twice the price. So happy I ordered it for my collection !!!!

Bought this on "Deal of the Day" and it arrived like a rocket.  Sharpening job was just OK, but I can work on that.  Astounded how light snd nimble it felt, compared to the few other sabres I had handled, in the scabbard it felt TOO light, but then I tested it with it's none too sharp edge on hedges and bushes, and WOW confidence returned.  A great cutter, nimble, cuts heavy stuff and the blade just tracks, you feel very much in control.  I saw some reviewers elsewhere call it "clunky", I can't imagine what they're comparing this to.  My idea of a "practical sword", I'm very satisfied.
