OVERVIEW

Circa 17th Century
This stunning rapier has an expertly crafted swept & twisted metal basket. The heavily carved horn grip mimics the elegantly twisted metal of the hilt and is hand-wound and inset with a single steel accent wire that provides an excellent grip while dueling. The hand-forged, high carbon steel blade has a flattened oval cross-section and an extended, custom engraved ricasso for strength. Better yet is the aristocratic, dashing look this magnificent and fast rapier gives the wearer when rakishly hanging from a belt.

Includes leather scabbard. Made by Windlass Steelcrafts.

Note: although the picture shows a black grip, each grip is unique and can be different in color due to the natural horn used.  Many will be black with grey and light brown marbling.

Can and Should Rapiers Be Edged?
A superbly balanced and very handsome weapon. I'm of two minds about a slight "edge" from 3" to 5". While these are traditionally/historically "Gentlemen's blades," if they are to go beyond being long pig stickers, a slight double-edge sharpening would make them more formidable in both long and close quarters.

A well-made, well-balanced, beautiful sword
I love this sword. It’s a good quality sword, properly balance and beautifully made. The hilt is a nice balance between simple and fancy, and was just the thing I was looking for.

Very nice rapier.
I've had a lot of compliments on this.  I didn't give it 5 stars since the metal work was not a shiny as I thought it would be and I couldn't order it sharpened.  I'll have to figure out how to get it sharpened.  But  beautiful rapier none the less.
