Battlecry by Windlass

The Battlecry line of historical swords, daggers and axes has been designed in conjunction with John Clements, whose knowledge of historical fencing and Medieval and Renaissance fighting methods is unsurpassed. Hand forged by Windlass Steelcrafts, the 1065 high carbon steel is tempered in computer controlled ovens to an RC in the low 50's. This ensures strength, resiliency and edge retention. Swords have extra wide full tangs and all weapons are sharpened.

Each model has been put through rigorous physical testing to exceed industry standards. These battle tested weapons have a stone washed, blackened finish. Each is individually inspected at every step of the manufacturing process, and only after passing inspection they receive the armorers stamp on the blade. A certificate is included with each, signed by the craftsman that worked on your blade. Also included is a matching sheath and, when applicable, frog.

Review of: Battlecry Acre Crusader Broadsword

This sword is great!  Seemingly indestructible and very enjoyable to wield.  Last weekend I used it (to my neighbors amusement) to take down a small tree in the yard.  Not even a dent or chip on the edge.  My only complaint is that the pommel was slightly canted to one side.  This is in no way detrimental to the functionality though.  But for a $264 sword, I won't complain.

This is a solidly constructed buckler.  The size and weight is perfect and the handle is comfortable.  This is a great buy.

This is my first purchase of an actual, non-display sword and I couldn't be happier.

Review of: Battlecry Acre Crusader Broadsword

This sword is amazing.  Great quality and a solid piece that I know will be able to take a beating.  My only criticism is that it doesn't have a cross etched into the pommel, but I think I can do that myself.  Great piece!

Review of: Battlecry Maldon Seax

It has a great feel to it. Love the handle and grip. Sheath is nice. Only gripe I have is that mine didn't come sharp enough to cut much of anything. But I can sharpen it so that's not a big enough issue to lower rating.

Review of: Battlecry Bosworth Longsword

If you love the longsword you need this one in your armoury. It is ready to go out of the box and handles like a dream. I removed the black finish from the blade and it looks beautiful against the black hilt. Please make more swords like this!

Review of: Battlecry Hattin Falchion

This blade is beautiful!  The black parts have a varied pattern to it that makes it look like stone instead of metal.  It's well worth the money if this is the type of blade you're looking for!

Review of: Battlecry Maldon Viking Sword

The sword comes with a good edge and smooth finish, it is a bit blade heavy as this style of sword would be, and is not overly heavy. Very durable and would be hard to break.

Review of: Battlecry Acre Crusader Broadsword

Very good for the price, comes sharp and polished, the finish is smooth and consistent. I can't imagine it would ever break with regular use. It is a bit blade heavy though, but that's to be expected with this style of sword.
