Care and Handling of the Sword

Whether sheathed in a scabbard or on display, always treat the sword as a potential danger and show the proper respect when handling.

Never swing the sword at another person or animal. Our swords are designed to perform as the originals they replicate did and can pose a potential hazard to anyone within distance of any sword movement.

Examples of approved targets for cutting practice (always use protective gear including eye protection):

  • Tatami Mats
  • Saplings
  • Cardboard Tubes

Show respect at all times. Although your sword is a very dependable, sturdy weapon your sword was not designed to cut on hard surfaces (i.e. trees, concrete, etc.). Doing this would result in damage or breakage to the blade and poses a potential hazard to you and those around you.

To avoid accidental unsheathing carry the sword hilt up or position it higher than the sheath. This will prevent dangerous accidents such as the possibility of the blade falling out of the scabbard.

Sheath the blade by bringing the sheath to the blade. This is safer and you will have more control preventing an accidental puncture or cut.
